40th Day of Enhanced Community Lockdown

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

We are at extremely challenging times battling and trying to overcome the COVID19 Pandemic.

Today is the 25th of April year 2020 and the 40th day of the Enhanced Community Lockdown in Metro Manila. Lockdown was being implemented by the government to ensure that the spread of Corona Virus will be slow down inevitably flattening the curve.

During lockdown no one is allowed to leave their homes except the frontliners.

Travel was banned, going out to the malls and other leisure activities was also banned.

One person per family with a quarantine pass was only allowed to leave their homes to go out to replenish food and essentials for their family. So if you're feeling boredom during your home quarantine find ways to cope up because you are lucky you are safe from the exposure of the virus.

We are all indebted to all the frontliners who every day risk their lives in able to serve the community. These are the modern-day heroes of our times. The Medical Doctors, Nurses, and Medical staff, Army and Police, Bankers, Media Personnel, baranggay workers, delivery crew, security guards and other frontliners all bravely go out doing their job and are being exposed to the Corona virus.

The bravest and greatest of all the Frontlines are undeniably the Medical Doctors, Nurses, and Hospital staff who unselfishly give out their best to serve the covid19 patients some of them died from physical exhaustion and exposure to the virus.

Yesterday I was deeply shocked that someone from our community died.

A parent from my daughter's school and my Anesthesiologist during my Caesarian birth delivery with my 2nd daughter Alexis. Dr. David Jonathan L. Pagaduan was part of the medical frontliners who lost their lives amidst their battle against the Corona Virus.

His 2 sons and wife can no longer bid goodbye and give burial rites to Dr. David.

From the DOH orders, all deceased from the Corona Virus must be isolated, sealed, and disinfected. Dr. David's remains was cremated within 12 hours from his death. No one from his family ever had a chance to see him in his casket. I am deeply saddened for his 2 young sons Enoch and Nathan who will be left growing without their father. I am worried for his wife, Dra. Ria that she will be left as a sole provider for his 2 sons and be a single parent so abruptly.

Please extend your prayers for his family, they need it so much. I am praying for all the Medical Frontliners protection. May they be provided with sufficient PPE's by our government, private corporation, and generous individuals.

To give honor and to declare the heroism of our medical frontliners. DDB Group Philippines, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW), produced a touching tribute video for them.

Angel sa Lupa is a tribute to the country’s medical frontliners – doctors, nurses and hospital staff – who risk their lives in the fight against COVID19, Watch this video and share it as much as you can. This is for our medical frontliners and heroes.

The Philippines is fighting hard, we are not a rich country but our government is trying its best to deliver financial aid to the poorest of the poor, procure PPE's , enforce mass testing and find the cure for this virus. Our government is not perfect but at least you can see their efforts unlike during the Yolanda tragedy.

The Philippines cannot succeed on its mission to flatten the curve if Filipinos will continue to be arrogant and ignore Quarantine protocols. Please stay at home and help our medical frontliners. Do not let yourself be exposed to the Corona virus in this way medical frontliners will not be overwhelmed with the number of infected patients.

Someday we will overcome the Corona Virus and be triumphant on our battles.

Let us continue to help one another, stay home, donate if you can. Give your time and talk with someone who needs your support. Be a friend and give moral support to those who need it.

God bless us all. Stay safe. Stay at home.

I would forever be grateful to you if you would share this blog with your friends and families.
